Car makers declare a 20% drop in orders this year and are preparing to halt production in the UK, if Brexit cripples the supply chain, or tariffs are imposed.
With car sales plunging across Europe, closing English factories would be the least worst option for the industry, with spare capacity in EU.
Republic of Ireland does not recognise any borders on their island and will not erect border posts.
Apparently they view such barriers as an entirely BRITISH issue, and therefor any problems caused by checkpoints would be the responsibility of the British government.
As usual, it's the British state which causes the strife in Ireland - not the EU.
